Alexey Kudrya comes to Rosenblatt Recitals after a busy year which saw him make his debut at both New York’s Metropolitan Opera House and Vienna State Opera in the role of Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia. In 2009 the Russian-born tenor was awarded first prize in Plácido Domingo’s Operalia Competition. Future engagements include Der Rosenkavalier at the Grand Théâtre in Geneva, Così fan tutte in Munich and Tokyo, and Il Duca d’Alba and Il Viaggio a Reims at the Vlaamse Opera in Antwerp.

Giuseppe Filianoti has won widespread critical acclaim for his passionate lyricism and dramatic fervour on the world’s leading opera stages, qualities he will no doubt bring to his much-anticipated Rosenblatt Recital. Mentored by Alfredo Kraus, he is equally at home performing bel canto and lyric Italian opera as he is in 19th century French repertoire. In 2012 he stars in Manon at the Opéra Bastille in Paris, Faust and La Bohème in Hamburg, and Don Giovanni in Berlin.

Latvian soprano Marina Rebeka makes a welcome return to the UK to give her first London recital, following her acclaimed Covent Garden debut when she stepped in for Angela Gheorghiu as Violetta in La Traviata in 2010. She is currently starring as Donna Anna in a new production of Don Giovanni in her much awaited Metropolitan Opera House debut.

Juan Diego Flórez’s last London recital with pianist Vincenzo Scalera resulted in The Times proclaiming him “the most thrilling tenor of our age” and “one of the most extraordinary vocal phenomenons of all time”. Juan Diego Flórez undertook music studies both in his native Lima and at the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia. Since then he has appeared at the major opera houses and performed in the world’s greatest opera productions. Future engagements until 2013 are scheduled for La Scala, the Metropolitan Opera House, the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, the Vienna Staatshoper, the Teatro Regio Turin and the Los Angeles Opera. He has received many awards and prizes including the Abbiati Prize from Italian music critics, L’Opera Award Prize and the Bellini Prize.

Sylvia Schwartz is fast becoming one of the most exciting lyric sopranos of her generation. In 2010/11 the young Spanish soprano joined the Vienna State Opera company as principal soprano where her roles have included Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Adina (L’Elisir d’amore), Morgana (Alcina), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier), Zerlina (Don Giovanni) and Despina (Così fan tutte).
