Alexia Voulgaridou studied under Prof. Daphne Evangelatos at the Academy of Music in Munich where she graduated with distinction. Her recent successes were La Traviata produced by Werner Schroeter at Kassel Opera, Mimi at Bregenz Festival, Marguerite in Rome, opera concerts with Bayerischer Rundfunk under the baton of Marcello Viotti, Mimi in Geneva and the new production of La Traviata in Mannheim as well as guest appearances in Athens. Future projects include amongst others: Norma in Darmstadt, Elisir d´amore in Mannheim, Anna Bolena in Torino, Mimi in Luxembourg.
Alexia Voulgaridou started her music
career by studying piano at conservatory
of Kavala.
Parallel to her study of law at the
University of Athens, she took vocal and
harmony lessons at the National
Conservatory of Athens.
In 1992, she changed to Prof. Daphne
Evangelatos at the Academy of Music in
Munich where she graduated with
distinction.
She was a member of the Opera Studio
of the Bavarian State Opera before she
became a firm member of the National
Theater Mannheim.
On the occasion of the re-opening of the
Prinzregententheater in Munich, Alexia
Voulgaridou sang the role of Sophie in
Der Rosenkavalier.
Under the baton of Sir Colin Davis she
already performed in Munich in Die
Zauberflöte and Le nozze di Figaro.
In Mannheim she sang Sophie in Der
Rosenkavalier, Violetta in La Traviata,
Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Giulietta in
Les Contes d´Hoffmann, Lucia in
Lucia di Lammermoor, Liù in
Turandot, Micaela in Carmen and
Eurydice in Orphée aux Enfers.
Her recent great successes were La
Traviata in a production by Werner
Schroeter at Kassel Opera, Mimi at
Bregenz Festival, Marguerite in Rome
(under the baton of Maestro
Gelmetti),opera concerts with
Bayerischer Rundfunk under the baton of
Marcello Viotti, Mimi in Geneva and the
new production of La Traviata in
Mannheim as well as guest appearances
in Athens.
Future projects include amongst others:
Norma in Darmstadt, Elisir d´amore in
Mannheim, Anna Bolena in Torino, Mimi
in Luxembourg.
