Born in Taranto (Italy), Lucio Gallo graduated from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory Turin where he studied with Elio Battaglia. He is a regular guest of the world’s leading opera houses and concert halls and has worked with the greatest conductors. His wide repertory includes many Mozartian, Rossinian, Verdian and Wagnerian roles. Future engagements include Don Pizarro in Fidelio, the title role in Falstaff at the Liceu in Barcelona, Iago in new productions of Otello in Tokyo and at the Opéra Bastille, Der Fliegende Holländer and Macbeth at the Hamburg Staatsoper, Tosca at Chicago’s Lyric Opera, in Berlin and Vienna, new productions of Il Tabarro and Gianni Schicchi at Covent Garden and his Bayreuth debut as Telramund in a new production of Lohengrin.
